Ball Shades

What are ball shades?

Glass ball shades are reproduction ball lamp shades for older-style lamps.  The lamps can be what are known as parlor lamps, piano lamps, banquet lamps and Gone With the Wind Lamps.  These decorative antique style ball lamp shades come in different sizes and are usually frosted with hand-painted designs on them.

Very popular during the second half of the 19th century, these Victorian lamp shades were originally made with bottom fitter sizes ranging from four to six inches. Today’s reproductions are available with a four inch bottom fitter. Shade heights vary from 9 – 11 inches.
